TISFD announces launch of Regional Councils to ensure global relevance and local engagement

The Taskforce on Inequality-related Financial Disclosures (TISFD) is pleased to announce the launch of four Regional Councils, established to ensure the Taskforce’s work is grounded in the distinct social, economic, and cultural contexts of different regions. These Councils, covering the Americas, Asia-Pacific, Europe & UK, and Middle East & Africa, form a core part of TISFD’s commitment to inclusivity, local relevance, and meaningful stakeholder engagement.

Each Council brings together 20–25 members, with potential to expand over time. Membership includes representatives from financial institutions, corporations, civil society groups, and labour organizations. The Councils are convened and supported by the TISFD Secretariat.

Regional Council members play a central role in co-creation of TISFD deliverables, thought leadership and capacity building initiatives. The Councils will also help enhance the impact and acceptance of TISFD’s framework by ensuring it addresses local challenges and opportunities.

By embedding regional expertise and local perspectives into its process, TISFD is taking a critical step toward building a disclosure framework that is globally consistent, yet responsive to the local needs.
